Following in the footsteps of the first issue developed by RVB, CLINIC,
the photographers of MONEY tackle a societal issue, namely wealth,
to explore its representations and uses from an uncharacteristic angle.
Through this approach, MONEY strives to represent that which characterises the upper classes via their image as perceived by artists.
MONEY will bring together the works commissioned from a number of authors or artists who have included the aesthetics of wealth in the scope of their research.

This project will lead on to exhibitions, whether individual or collective, to be hosted in art centres and festivals across France and Europe plus a series of monographs to be published.

MONEY is a project that started back in 2008 with a commission entrusted to Martin Parr as part of a broader project on horse races.  Part of the series produced for RVB was included in the Luxury series presented at the Jeu de Paume from 30 June to 27 September 2009 during the Planet Parr exhibition.  This collection, soon to be augmented with other works, will form the material for a further publication.

PRIVILEGE is the first chapter in the new project developed by MONEYexploring the aesthetics of wealth through contemporary photography – in partnership with RVB.  PRIVILEGE is a journey into the world of jet set parties seen through the perceptive lens of American photographer Jessica Craig-Martin.
